Freedom by Design needs your help to improve the lives of people in our community! Volunteers and assistance are needed in a variety of areas:
Project Managers
Individuals or groups are invited to take on the role of Project Managers. Their responsibilities encompass the full scope of a project, from interviewing and surveying potential recipients, selecting the home, designing solutions, acquiring materials and supplies, to constructing or arranging for the construction of the needed renovations. Systems, processes, checklists, and mentors are available to those willing to take on the challenge, opportunity, and rewards of completing a project.
Design Profesionals and Contractors
For those unable to take on the responsibilities of an entire project, there is need for design professionals and contractors to participate on project teams.
Orientation/Qualification Interviewers
These individuals interview potential recipients to determine eligibility in the program and explain the project process
Fundraising
People are needed to solicit donations of money or materials to assist project managers who are unable to purchase the required materials with their own resources.
Legal Assistance
Attorneys are needed to develop legal forms to protect volunteers, recipients and landlords.
Money Donations
Donations are welcome to assist in purchasing materials and covering other project costs such as building permit fees.
Material Donations
Suppliers are sought to provide construction materials including, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, hardware, and rough building materials.
